FAQs
Weight-loss treatment — common questions
General information only. Your prescriber confirms what is safe and appropriate for you.
Who is eligible for weight-loss treatment?
Licensed weekly weight-loss treatment is for adults with obesity or overweight with weight-related health problems, where BMI and clinical history meet MHRA-approved criteria. The clinic's clinicians confirm eligibility — clinics do not rely on self-reported weight alone for high-risk medicines and may ask for verification.
What are common side effects of weekly weight-loss treatment?
The most common side effects are digestive — nausea, reduced appetite, bloating, constipation or diarrhoea — especially when starting or increasing dose. These often improve as your body adjusts. Dose is titrated slowly with regular clinical review. Report severe or persistent symptoms promptly.
How does dose titration work?
You start on a low weekly dose and increase only when your clinician agrees you are tolerating treatment well. Each dose tier has its own monthly price. Do not increase faster than your care plan recommends.
How should I store my weekly treatment?
Follow the patient information leaflet supplied with your treatment. Most devices are refrigerated before first use and may be kept at room temperature for a limited period once in use. Never freeze. Use cold-chain delivery packs as guidance and contact us if a delivery arrives warm or damaged.
How much weight might I lose?
Results vary. Clinical trials show meaningful weight loss over months when treatment is combined with diet and activity changes — not from medicine alone. Your clinician sets realistic expectations based on your starting weight and health.
Can I switch between weekly and dual-action pathways?
Only with clinical review. Pathways use different medicines and titration schedules. Book a review through your account if you are not progressing or have side effects — do not switch products without clinical guidance.
