Editorial policy

# How we keep our content honest

Sanara Health is a comparison platform, not a clinic. This page is the contract for every guide, condition hub and clinic table: how we research, what we will not publish, what triggers a correction, and what money cannot buy.

**In brief.** Pages are desk-researched by a named editor,[Kaiser Khan](https://www.sanarahealth.co.uk/author/kaiser-khan/), and fact-checked against NHS guidance, GPhC/CQC registers and each clinic’s own site. We never advertise named prescription-only medicines. We never invent a fee, rating or register number. Commission does not change rankings. If we get a fact wrong, we fix it and log it on[/corrections](https://www.sanarahealth.co.uk/corrections/).

## Who writes this, and who does not

Kaiser Khan is the named human author in our bylines and in JSON-LD. The role is editor, not clinician. We do not employ in-house prescribers, and we do not put a doctor’s name on a page they have not personally reviewed. A brand name as a schema`Person` is an E-E-A-T anti-pattern; inventing a medical reviewer is worse. Where a page discusses treatment classes, the clinical decision still belongs to the clinic’s own registered prescriber after its assessment.

Nothing here is a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. For emergencies use NHS 111 or 999, not this site.

## How a page is researched

Desk assessment, step by step: (1) identify the question a UK patient actually asks; (2) read the current NHS page and any NICE or MHRA position that applies; (3) check the GPhC register for any pharmacy we name, and CQC where a clinic claims registration; (4) capture comparison figures only from the clinic’s own site, with the URL and the date; (5) write a verdict that names who should skip the online route; (6) add FAQs that match the questions, not marketing slogans. We do not scrape forums and “rewrite in our voice”. We do not copy competitor phrasing.

Every specific number on a clinic row — consultation fee, delivery fee, Trustpilot score, GPhC number — needs a capture date and source URL. Service details older than 45 days and registration details without a recent register check are withheld at publication from the table, CSV and answer-engine copies. If we cannot source a detail, the UI renders “Check site” or “Check register”. Absence of a figure is not evidence of absence; we never render “unregistered” or “unscored” from a missing value.

## What we will not publish

Named prescription-only medicines, or class-and-device language that functions as an advert for them (UK MHRA/ASA rules, and our affiliate network’s stricter terms). Guaranteed approval. Invented wait times, prices, ratings or register numbers. A claim that Sanara Health is a pharmacy, clinic, or that we handle patient data. First-hand clinical experience we do not have. Years in URLs (“best online pharmacy 2026”) that rot every January. Supplier star-ratings copied into structured data as if they were ours.

We describe treatment *options at class level* — weekly weight-loss programmes, on-demand ED tablets, topical hair-loss plans — and compare the services that offer them. The clinic you choose decides whether a medicine is suitable for you.

## What money cannot buy

Clinics cannot pay to appear, to rank higher, or to have a fee or rating omitted. Affiliate links are marked with * and use `rel="sponsored nofollow"`. The comparison table includes clinics that do not pay us; when the free NHS route wins (Pharmacy First, NHS emergency contraception, NHS repeat prescriptions) we say so, even though that click earns nothing. Scores and rankings are firewalled from payment: the clinic data file does not have a “paid placement” field, and the build will not grow one. Partners on our published [Featured or Premium plans](https://www.sanarahealth.co.uk/partners/) can buy only clearly labelled “Sponsored” slots, which sit outside comparison tables and never change a clinic’s order, figures or description.

## What triggers a correction

A published, checkable fact that is wrong: a fee that the clinic’s own site no longer shows, a Trustpilot score we transcribed incorrectly, a GPhC number that does not match the register, a sentence that implies we prescribe or dispense. We update the page, change `dateModified` only because the content changed, and add a dated row to [the corrections log](https://www.sanarahealth.co.uk/corrections/) with the old value, the new value, and the source. Copy-edits and new articles are not corrections.

## How often we re-check

Clinic fees and ratings drift. The comparison file records a capture date per clinic; the latest service details were checked on 23 September 2026. We re-check figures when a clinic changes its public terms, when a reader flags a mismatch, and during a regular review of the full table. The build withholds figures that are already more than 45 days old; the live site still needs regular publication to remain current. Guides are reviewed when NHS or MHRA guidance changes, and at least annually. We do not bump a “last updated” line to look fresh.

## How this site is allowed to talk about medicines

UK law treats advertising of prescription-only medicines to the public as a different activity from education. We stay on the education side: class-level descriptions, clinic-level comparison, and a hard build gate that fails if a banned brand or generic name appears in the output. That gate is why some older URLs now redirect — we renamed pages rather than leave an illegal advert in the archive. The redirects are listed in the Astro config, not on this policy, because they are engineering, not a change of clinical fact.

If a future affiliate network adds a stricter word list, we will tighten the gate rather than argue. Traffic is not a reason to publish a sentence we cannot defend to the MHRA or ASA.

The same facts are offered as HTML, as per-page Markdown (`rel="alternate" type="text/markdown"`), as [llms.txt](https://www.sanarahealth.co.uk/llms.txt), as[RSS](https://www.sanarahealth.co.uk/feed.xml), and as a dated[clinics.csv](https://www.sanarahealth.co.uk/data/clinics.csv) dataset. If a machine surface disagrees with the page, the page is the source of truth and the surface is a bug — report it.

## Who this policy is not for

Skip Sanara Health if you need a diagnosis, an examination, emergency care, or a named clinician accountable for your prescription. We will not pretend to be that. Use NHS services, or a GPhC-registered pharmacy after a real consultation. This site is for people who already know they want to compare regulated UK online clinics — and who want that comparison to stay honest when money is involved.
